GLEE DEBUT FOR GARDEN LAKE 200
Be Green, Straight plc's new environmental brand, makes its GLEE debut with an extensive range of environmentally friendly home and garden products. Be Green has a variety of products available to help householders adopt a greener lifestyle, including a best-selling range of water butts.
New this year, is the Garden Lake 200 litre water butt. Originally launched as an own brand product, this water butt has proved extremely popular and is now available for general purchase.
Installing a water butt is just one of the ways that householders can save water and lead a more sustainable way of life. Used with a water meter, a water butt can save money too.
The Garden Lake 200 offers an ideal solution for collecting rainwater. Made from 75% recycled plastic and with a 5 year guarantee, each water butt features a wood grain effect finish. The water butt is also fitted with child-safe lid and a tap as standard.
A clever, ergonomic design enables each water butt to be stacked economically ensuring more cost-effective transportation and hence a reduced carbon footprint for the product. The Garden Lake 200 can be stacked up to 10 units high allowing 1000 units to be delivered in one load compared with other models on the market where a full load is less than 200 units.
A range of water butt accessories are also available from Be Green which are suitable for most water butts including stands, rainwater diverter kits, link kits and water butt freshener, an organic water treatment to keep collected rainwater fresh and clean. |

STRAIGHT LAUNCHES NEW RETAIL BRAND
Straight plc, the Leeds-based supplier of recycling containers and home and garden products has launched a new environmentally positive retail brand, “Be Green”.
The Be Green brand strengthens Straight’s position as the UK’s largest supplier of home composters and water butts and consolidates all of its existing product ranges. Aimed at the retail and distribution sectors, Be Green includes a wide range of environmental home and garden products in four key themed areas: home composting; home recycling; water conservation and energy saving.
Straight was keen to create a strong consumer-focused brand that encompassed all of its market leading products under one distinct environmentally friendly name. The brand name Be Green is consistent with the type of products on offer and highlights the common factor that they are all green products.
Be Green promotes the green message by encouraging customers to work towards a greener future. By buying into the brand values, consumers will feel that they are buying into a more sustainable way of life and are doing their bit for the environment. In essence, the consumers will become green, which is the key to the brand name.
Jonathan Straight, Chief Executive at Straight plc commented, “We wanted to build a brand that is immediately recognisable, bringing together all of our product ranges. Be Green is an environmentally friendly brand that covers a wide range of environmental products under one clear identifiable name. It was important that the brand name was broad enough to incorporate all product ranges and also offered the prospect of future growth. As the business continues to expand, we will be able to develop the brand further with new product lines.”
Straight continues, “Be Green will make it easier for consumers to make the transition to a more sustainable way of life by helping them to adopt a much greener lifestyle. Each product in the Be Green range is aimed at successfully reducing the consumer’s carbon footprint.” |

Straight, the Leeds-based supplier of recycling containers and environmental
container solutions which is listed on AIM, today announces the acquisition of
the assets and trade of Cloudburst garden products.
These have been purchased from Titan Environmental Limited, part of Kingspan

The Cloudburst business, which generated unaudited profits of approximately £150,000
for the year to October 2005, supplies a number of rainwater containers and home
composters as well as associated accessories across the Cloudburst, Ecolake,
Garden Lake and Garden River brands. These complement Straight's core business,

routes into areas of the retail trade in which we have not previously been active.
"We now have further products to add to our core range. In addition, a network

exports. These new customers will also be interested in products from our existing

garden products business from an established starting point". |
